Peter Booras started playing drums
professionally in upstate New York at the age of 19. He played on the East Coast
in various rock, funk, and rhythm and blues bands for 10 years before moving to
California.
Peter has played with Al Quaglieri,
a Grammy-winning producer for CBS-Sony Records; Tony Lindsay (Santana); Skylark
(Doobie Brothers); Frank Martin (Narada Michael Walden); Myron Dove (Santana);
John Lee Sanders (Long John Baldry, Paul Williams); Garth Webber (Miles Davis);
Mike Schermer (Elvin Bishop, Maria Muldaur); Dale Ockerman (Doobie Brothers);
Tiran Porter (Doobie Brothers); Richard Bryant (Doobie Brothers); among many
others.
Peter studied with Dr. James Petersack at Crane School of Music, State
University of New York (1972-1974) and at the Berkeley College of Music in
Boston, MA (1974-1975)
In California, Peter began performing with Bay Area perennial bands such as
Spang-A-Lang and Roger Eddy. He toured with Maria Muldaur and the Jerry Garcia
Band. Peter is currently a member of the White
Album Ensemble, and can also be seen with a variety of local
bands - including Mumblefinger,
Broadway Blues and Mick
Overman & the Maniacs.
